Cozy, hearty, and full of flavor without being too spicy. This easy mild chili is perfect for chilly nights, game days, or anytime you want a big bowl of comfort food.
Ingredients:
1 large white onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb ground beef
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1½ teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon black pepper, optional
½ teaspoon salt
1¼ cups beef broth
1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
¼ cup tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions:
1. Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 3–5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
2. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Drain any excess grease if needed.
3. Stir in the brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, cumin, onion powder, black pepper, and salt until evenly coated.
4. Add the beef broth, kidney beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
5. Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Serve warm with shredded cheese, sour cream, crackers, or your favorite chili toppings. Enjoy!
